Bio: Riley Nottingham is a Brisbane-born actor currently part of the Ensemble Cast of Thank God You're Here, and in 2024 will make his feature film debut as Nate Taylor in STRANGE CREATURES. Also in 2024, Riley is presenting his debut solo show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
A graduate of the Queensland Actors Playhouse, Riley has been acting all his life and after a nation-wide search, when Riley was just 18 he was hand-picked to star in the Australian children’s television series TOYBOX (Seven Network, 2010-2013) in the lead role of Tom the Cowboy, which comprised 290 episodes and saw him headline Carols in the Domain and Hillside Carnivale performing to over 40,000.
Since then, Riley has created and starred in METRO SEXUAL (Nine Network and OUTtv, 2019-2021) playing the hilarious lead role of Dr. Langdon Marsh. This was also recently acquired by Virgin Australia, Crackle and Revry TV. Additional television credits include SHORE IT’S LOVE (2022), THERE AFTER (2019), HITSTROKE FM (2016), THE GODS OF WHEAT STREET (2013-2014) and WE ARE DARREN AND RILEY (2014). Other notable roles include the award-winning short film IN HALVES (2022) playing Jed.
His love for the stage continues to this day, appearing in Wit Inc’s Every Second, Pearl Entertainment’s Out of the Blue, Melbourne Theatre Company’s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spell Bee and Humdrum Comedy/Left Bauer Productions’ Australian professional premiere of Gilligan’s Island: The Musical. He has also presented multiple festival shows including his latest original musical work MANIFESTO which he toured around Sydney Fringe, Melbourne Fringe and Fringe Brisbane in 2022.
Riley has trained in acting extensively since 2002 at many institutions including Australian Acting Academy, Queensland Actors Playhouse, The Film Space and private coaching with Suzanne Heywood and Jennifer Kent. When he isn’t performing, Riley is busy as a writer, musician and producer for the production company he co-founded, Humdrum Comedy. He also founded the online acting school Working Actors Academy.
In 2019, Riley was named by Screen Producers Australia as a ‘One to Watch’ and in 2022, his company Humdrum Comedy was also named as a ‘Breakthrough Business of the Year’.
