Chris Orchard is a popular and recognizable actor from several successful television series. Chris still continually works both as a musician and actor. He appeared recently as Prime Minister Mike Webber in the TV series 'Prosper' and in 2022 was in 'Ten Pound Poms'. Chris studied at NIDA in the same year as such luminaries as Mel Gibson and Judy Davis. He accumulated credits in Sydney Theatre before moving to Melbourne to work with the MTC. He had already appeared as a lead actor in the soap Young Doctors and was targeted by Crawford Productions for several series including the period drama Carson's Law in which he played the wayward son Tommy Carson with great distinction. Subsequently Chris was offered the lead role in the Channel 9 show 'Prime Time'. He returned to Sydney and was a regular on 'E Street'. Chris has appeared in leading roles in five major television series and has appeared in over 500 episodes of various series. He pursued a simultaneous career on the distribution side of the film business for over 13 years taking management roles with Paramount, Universal Pictures and Polygram records. Chris is also a musician and songwriter and has performed on the Sydney club circuit for over 40 years. He has won several internation song contests.
