Theo Shakes is a 22 year old filmmaker, actor and TikToker based in New Zealand. He’s currently training at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School, as an actor and artist. You may have seen him on the social media giant TikTok with 1.4 mil + followers, and has recently wrapped a guest role alongside Elijah Wood in feature film BOOKWORM. Theo graduated with a diploma in Film and Television Production at South Seas Film School in 2020. His award-winning short films have garnered praise in international festivals, allowing him to tell stories from his cultural experience as a writer and director. Theo has a relentless pursuit to develop his craft with a deep desire to share art in the world and let it simmer inside those who seek it. On TikTok Theo is often quoted as ‘the man who’s lived every life’, as he creates impressions and characters based on everyday experiences we can all relate to. Theo was born in England and spent most of his life in New Zealand. He has a passion for storytelling across a variety of channels, including film, theatre, and stand up comedy, and is an active member of the New Zealand Youth Film Festival (NZYFF) committee.
