Notes

Claire Riverland was born in and primarily grew up in Melbourne, Australia. Her mother's side of the family is from Hong Kong whilst her father is of German-Polish descent. From a young age, Claire has always loved storytelling, whether it be sharing and expressing her own adventures or absorbing and amplifying the experiences of others. Her passion for acting was fostered through youth musical theatre and studying the dramatic arts in high school, which later progressed into Claire choosing to pursue her love of cinema and interest in filmmaking through her current studying of a Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) at Swinburne University. With half her heart in acting and the other half in filmmaking, Claire is set on fuelling her excitement and passion for imagination, creation and communication, both in the theatre or on a film set. In 2022, Claire took on the leading role in 'Le Devenir de Pierrot', a short film backed by Melbourne University and VCA was won the "Best Youth Short Film" prize at the St Kilda Film Festival's 2023 "Under the Radar" program for youth filmmakers and screened at the 2023 Cineverse Film Festival Official Selections. Recently, her directorial debut, "Hard to Swallow", has been selected to premiere at Cineverse 2024 in Melbourne and has won at the WIFA Awards for Best short film in Oceania. Claire hopes to continue her journey in acting whilst pursuing her interests in directing, producing, and screenwriting. Claire is fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
