Philip Quast, NIDA - "In a year which resulted in NSW’s first lockdowns I was enamoured of Monika’s commitment to her studies. She did not cower, but embraced the challenges of online learning and physical restrictions and she displayed an exponential growth in her acting. Monika is a deceptive talent. She presents as shy at first but I have seldom seen an actor become so ‘alive’ when on the floor and on a set. Acting for her becomes a place of freedom, a place where she can charm and surprise. She possesses a comedian’s timing and is very funny and witty... she brings a knowledge of what it is like to have diverse Australian stories under-represented on screen and TV. She is extremely enthusiastic and motivated to be part of the shift which is finally occurring to redress the balance of under representation. "
