Renaye Tamati is a British-born, New Zealand Māori actress who graduated from highly regarded Auckland training institution The Actors Program in 20108. Since then, Renaye has gone on to star in numerous theatre productions, including the lead role of Titania/Hippolyta in the Pop Up Globe's acclaimed Māori-language adaptation of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. On screen, Renaye has made appearances on award-winning New Zealand crime drama THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES, and most recently NZ/Irish co-production THE GONE. Renaye is also an experienced martial artist, with training in karate, boxing and kung fu. She is currently pursuing her language and culture through full immersion te reo Māori learning, and is developing a solo show based on her experience growing up Māori in England.
