Notes

I enjoy various forms of the arts including drama, singing, dance, music, musical theatre. The following is a brief overview of my achievements. Drama For drama I actively participate in theatre productions. I was in the Sound of Music in 2021 and performed as Marta of the Von Trapp family with LPAS. In 2022 I performed as little Elsa in Frozen Jr with LPAS also. I performed as the character Pigtails in the musical Newsies with the Hype Youth Theatre at Levin Little Theatre the same year. I was also the main character Nanny Aniwaniwa in the play Stars of Matariki at Koputaroa school in 2022. I am currently in rehearsal for the production of Les Miserables as the main Little Cosette with LPAS. I was nominated in 2023 for best female support for my role in Frozen junior with LPAS. I also performed in the Tauranga Performing Arts Competition Society for drama in the under 9 class in 2018 in the restricted poem category (highly commended), character nursery rhyme category (highly commended). In 2019 I performed in the under 11 class in the restricted poem category (very highly commended), prepared prose category (commended) and improvisation duo category (commended). I was also a finalist in the 2017 Speech finals at Saint Mary’s School in Tauranga. I am currently studying for the grade 3 Trinity College London examination for drama. Singing I take singing lessons and sing competitively. Over the last 2 years I have sat and past 2 St Ceclia international singing exams passing with distinction. I have performed at the Manawatu Performing Arts Competition Society regional singing competitions from 2021 in Palmerston North winning several awards including 3rd in restricted category, 3rd song in character category, 3rd sacred song category. In 2022 1st restricted category, 2nd own selection category, 2nd song in character category, 2nd in Folk traditional and winning the Sandra Knowles cup for restricted category. In 2023 1st own selection category, 1st folk/ traditional category, 1st overall winner 12 and under 14 categories, winning the MCS junior vocal cup (own selection category), McQueen -Davies Cup (folk/ traditional category) and Kwok Joe Cup (overall category). Further to this I have achieved merit (83%) in grade 1 in 2020, distinction (88%) in grade 2 in 2021 and distinction (86%) in grade 3 2022 for singing in the St Cecilia international music examinations. Dance I love to dance and study ballet, musical theatre and tap dance. I belong to the Cathy Inger school of dance and regularly perform in dance shows including the latest in September 2023 at the Levin Little Theatre performing all three dance styles. I have achieved Level 3 American Tap with NZAMD 2020 very highly commended, Level 4 in 2021 with excellence and Level 2 IDTA Grade 2 2022 with merit. I have also achieved my primary and level one ballet with honours in 2017 and 2018 respectively and currently studying grade 4 in 2023. I have also achieved theatre craft preparatory grade with distinction (86%) in 2017 and currently studying grade 3. Further to this I achieved 1st in the musical theatre in song category, and 3rd in the scene to song category of the 2023 Manawatu Performing Arts Competition Society Musical Theatre Competition in Palmerston North using tap dance and dance movement. I also performed a choreographed piece with my sisters as a trio in the group category and achieved 93% in the group performance of this competition achieving very highly commended. I also competed in rhythmic gymnastics and achieved 3rd place in hoop and 3rd place overall in the 2018 Future gymnastics competition in Tauranga and in the 2019 Tauranga School Gymsport Festival achieving 1st in ball, 1st in free, and 1st overall. Music I also enjoy music and study and play the violin, piano and drums. I am currently studying book 3 of the Hal Leonard piano series and learning for 3 years, and Book 2 of the Suzuki series for violin and have been learning for violin 9 years. I am currently learning drums and have been learning drums for 1 year. I performed in the Rotary Music Festival in Palmerston North playing violin in the Progressive Violin Orchestra.
