BIOGRAPHY: Fanny Hanusin is a performer and singer of Chinese-Indonesian origin, who has been involved in Australian performing arts since 2000. She received Green Room Award for her performance in Hospital of the Lost Coin and The Vanishing Box. Highlights of past productions include Asylum (2005 Wal Cherry Play of the Year) and Serial Blogger (Green Room nominee for Alternative/Hybrid Production) that integrated street located touch screens, YouTube videos and live performance. Another highlight is performing in Attract/Repel, an honest and hilarious exploration of personal stories on racism. The show was awarded Kultour Tour Development Award by Melbourne Fringe. She developed Mapping Malin, a group devised show that interweaved an Indonesian folktale with Australian migrant stories and her bilingual solo show, Pempek premiered in Ambyar (2003 Indonesian Arts Festival). She also performed stand up and improvisational comedy in Melbourne International Comedy Festival with The Lord James’ Greatest Shits Tour and The Wrong People comedy troupe. Fanny’s television credits include The Slap, Offspring, Tangle, Conspiracy 365, the upcoming miniseries Better Man and a main cast role in Bogan Pride, a musical comedy miniseries that is set at a high school in Western suburb. Her most recent production is Happy Ending with MTC where she played the co-lead role of Jie, an owner of a massage parlour. Fanny proudly supports new Australian work.
