Jason Wilder is a Brisbane based Australian Actor and writer who first discovered his love of acting at age 15 when his dad arranged for the young teen to be an extra in Scooby Doo, which was being filmed close to his family home. He decided to pursue acting in his mid 20s and has been working consistently ever since, with most recent highlights being support and lead roles in Australian features films, GREAT WHITE (Shudder and Netflix) and LOVE IN BLOOM, produced by The Steve Jaggi Company in 2021.
This was directly followed by a series regular role in NBC / NETFLIX TV thriller, IRREVERANT which saw him film in Queensland for over four months alongside Hollywood actors, Colin O’Dowell and PJ Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street, Big Little Lies). The series is set to hit TV screens across the globe in late 2022.
Jason will also be seen this year as lead in Australian feature film, LOVE AND PENGUINS alongside Tammin Sursok (Pretty Little Liars, Rules of Engagement). To round off an exciting two years, Jason secured a role in The Jim Henson Company fantasy adventure film, THE PORTABLE DOOR.
The hotly anticipated film which is set for release in 2023 stars two-time Oscar winner, Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, Inglorious Basterds) and Sam Neil (Jurassic Park, Hunt for the Wilderpeople) and is led by award winning director, Jeffrey Walker (Young Rock, Lambs of God, Modern Family). Throughout the years as a successful actor, Jason has shared his wealth of knowledge with others in the industry – most notably being a lecturer at the New York Film Academy between 2014 – 2018 - allowing other actors to draw from his experience through his down to earth and practical approach to the craft. Aside from filming during Covid, he has also written four screenplays and three kids books, the latter which are currently in discussion with a notable publisher.
