Keanu Gonzalez was discovered at the age of 16 when Baz Luhrmann cast him as the understudy for leading role ‘Scott Hastings’ in the AU national tour of Strictly Ballroom: The Musical (the youngest member of the cast). After a successful 14 month run, Keanu was immediately cast by one of Australia’s largest theater companies, The Really Useful Group, to play ‘Alonzo’ in the Australian & New Zealand tour of CATS, which garnered, high acclaim. Since then, Keanu has played roles such as Greg in A Chorus Line (Darlinghurst Theatre Company); Bernardo and Pepe in West Side Story (Opera Australia/GWB Entertainment/BB Group); Ensemble and Understudy Kassim in Disney’s Aladdin (Disney Theatrical Group). Keanu is currently playing Charles Lee in the Hamilton: The Musical, Australia (Michael Cassel Group) Television includes, Islamic Solidarity Games (Arts in Motion); Everybody Dance Now (Network Ten); Saturday Disney (Seven Network); Don’t Stop Believing (Network Ten); The Dave and Kerley Show (Channel [V]). Film: Tuk in The Siege of Robin Hood (Bruise Productions). Awards: Brent Street Studio Scholarship Winner, 2007; The Wenkart Foundation Boys Dance Championship Winner, 2013. exceptional physical skills (dance, acrobatics, stage combat & martial arts).
