Meerna Yousif is no stranger to the screen, staring in many short films over the decade, she has also performed on television in the antenna award winning season of ‘The Leak’ and most recently ‘Wait. . We’re Live?!’ Which has been nominated in multiple categories. She has acted in Melbourne Webfest’s official selection ‘Fairy Floss’ as well as produced and directed a web series of comedic sketches inspired by the ‘Ethnic City’ variety show. Theatre credits began in various Youth Theatre productions. Now she has written, produced and acted in several Comedy and Fringe Festival shows both here (The Tokenists, Princess Problems) and overseas (The Australian Shakespeare Company). Years in comedy has allowed her to explore many forms and formats as an ensemble member with The Improv Conspiracy, The Big HooHaa, Soothplayers' Improvised Jane Austen and Melb Uni MudCrabs. Her most recent festival seasons included performing in ‘Improv Throwdown’ hosted by Rove McManus and Fringe saw her as a cast member for ‘A very normal dinner with your parents.’ Meerna holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne in English and Theatre Studies as well as Creative Writing. She has participated in an abundance of acting workshops in Melbourne and Los Angeles (Beverly Hills Playhouse). Her improv training includes years of learning from the best comedians and improvisers in Australia and overseas, such as Ryan Karels and David Razowsky. She is currently working on developing a comedy show pilot and creating various content on social media.
