Maureen J. Andrew is an accomplished and highly sought after performer and character actress with an exceptional and ongoing career in Music Theatre, Film, Stage, Television and has been a member and representative of Equity(MEAA) since 1971.

Since moving to the Daylesford area in 2013 Maureen has maintained her skills base by writing, producing and starring in a variety of shows for the Annual Chillout Festival and is currently working on a Shirley Bassey show (I Am What I am) for the Frolic Festival in Ballarat 2019. Previous shows include Marlene Dietrich (The Life, The Loves, The Legend). Liza MInnelli and Judy Garland (I'm With Judy), Gertrude Lawrence (S'Marvellous) with maestro Peter Hurley. Dolly Parton and Shania Twain (Rhinestone Cowgirl), Liza Minelli (New York! New York!) Barbra Streisand (My name is Barbra) and Tina turner and Bette Midler as rock divas. In 2013 she played a lead character in a new Television mini series “Leongatha', Madam Giry in Phantom of the Opera'. She played to great acclaim the role of Norma Desmond in 'Sunset Boulevard' (nominated for best leading actress in a musical) appeared as Poppy in Matthew Robinson's new musical 'Happy People' at Magnormos 10 year Anniversary at The Comedy Theatre and as Madame Gabrielle in the Magnormos production of 'Dear World' at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
After a two year tour (2010/11) in Elton John and Lee Hall’s brilliant 'Billy Elliot, The Musical' she was invited to join the GFO Australia hysterical and joyous tour of 'Calendar Girls' successful in both Sydney and Melbourne. Earlier tours include ‘Hugh Jackman’s Boy From Oz’ at the Burswood Entertainment Centre in Perth, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and The Sports and Entertainment Centre in Sydney, basking in the creative genius of director Kenny Ortega, renowned choreographer for Michael Jackson, Cher, Madonna. Fraulein Schneider in Sam Mendes vision of 'Cabaret'. Mrs Danvers in the Australian premiere of 'Rebecca the Musical'. Madame Thenardier in 'Les Miserables'. 'Saturday Night Fever' as Flo Manero at QPAC in Brisbane, Her Majesty’s in Melbourne, theatres in New Zealand, and a three month Asia tour at the Istana Budaya Theatre in Kuala Lumpur, The Esplanade Theatre in Singapore and in Hong Kong for the inimitable Producer David Atkins and choreographer Jason Coleman.
She has toured with John Frost's (GFO) world rated award winning productions including Miss Lynch in ‘Grease the Mega Musical’, an unforgettable 25,000 kilometre10 month tent tour around Australia in a big purple bus. Her career has continued since touring in Harry M. Miller’s Australia/NZ original production of “Hair”.

Women Playwright International Conferences in Mumbai, India and Athens and Delphi inGreece were preceded with play readings both locally (La Mama, Carlton Courthouse, the Malthouse) then internationally. She has been a director and performer of Shakespeare, and was invited for several years to work with the Bloomsday Players as Molly Bloom and various James Joyce characters.
Maureen is an accomplished speaker. Concerts and fundraising events include host and narrator for Rotary Annual event at Palais-Hepburn, Hepburn Wilflife Shelter concert at the Palais-Hepburn, International Womens Day event at the Creswick Town Hall playing Vida Goldstein, Trivett Rolls-Royce 100th Anniversary, Williamstown Rotary Club. Williamstown Chamber of Commerce, MECWA, She is an emcee, adjudicator, choreographer, director, and dance/drama teacher and vocal and voice coach.
As a singer/entertainer she has performed with numerous jazz, contemporary and rock bands. With duo Major Mischief at The Hyatt, The Hilton and major entertainment venues in Victoria and New South Wales and resident performer on the Able Tasman and Spirit of Tasmania. Her diverse skills have been sought after as an adjudicator of singing and dance Eisteddfods in Victoria and Queensland and include MMM Rock Eisteddfods, beauty pageants, Dance competitions, and the role of host and adjudicator at the Superstar Singing Competitions in Melbourne. Maureen works both privately and in schools as a drama and voice coach.
