BRIEF BIOGRAPHY & CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Chris Orchard is a popular and recognizable actor from several successful television series from the late 1970's up to 1991. Chris still continually works both as a musician and actor. He released an album 'That's the Way It Goes' in July 2009 and was nominated best Songwriter in the 2009 Music Aid International Song Contest, and received an honourable mention as best male solo performer. Many thousands of artists participated from all over the world. He recently (2016) worked on two short films 'Creswick', and VEOV DRIVE and a series of commercial films for Wagon Wheels, and a training film for the Australian Navy. He also shot a commercial for Soy Joy for Japanese television. Chris has his own website at www.chrisorchard.com.au with links to his music and acting work.
He Studied at NIDA in the same year as Mel Gibson. He accumulated credits in Sydney Theatre before moving to Melbourne to work with the MTC. He had already appeared as a lead actor in the soap Young Doctors and was targeted by Crawford Productions for several series including the period drama Carson's Law in which he played the wayward son Tommy Carson with great distinction. Subsequently Chris was offered the lead role in the show 'Prime Time'.He returned to Sydney and was a regular on 'E Street' for 18 months. Chris has appeared in leading roles in five major television series and has appeared in over 500 episodes of numerous shows. He pursued a simultaneous career on the distribution side of the business for over 10 years taking senior management roles with Paramount, Universal Pictures and Polygram records.
