Australian actor Freyja Benjamin’s notable credits include CLARITY, directed by Chris Sebastian Joys, which screened at the 51st annual BFI Awards in London presented by Helen Mirren. She starred in the award winning short BIG BAD WORLD alongside Netflix/TBS star Geraldine Viswanathan, directed by Catherine Kelleher. Recently, she made her feature film debut, in a leading role in EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. Freyja has received much praise for her portrayal Elizabeth Myers, from critics like David Stratton who compares her to the late Barbara Hershey, to Heavy Mag saying of her performance, "Benjamin in particular blows away in her feature film debut as Elizabeth Myers. It is from her that the vast majority of the film’s heart and emotion radiates." Freyja produced and starred in STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT for which she won the award for Most Empowering Female at Wollongong Film Festival. She was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in LA Web Fest for her role in the short series GIRT BY FEAR: TERROR AUSTRALIS. In 2023 Freyja founded Film Production Company FOAL alongside Sarinah Masukor. She wrote, produced and acted in the first episode of FOAL's upcoming anthology series. Freyja’s television work includes THE COMMONS (STAN) and BITE CLUB (NINE NETWORK) as Justine Harris. Along with her acting work Freyja has directed and produced a range of film projects and music videos and fronts the rising Sydney freak rock band Mega Fäuna. Since their formation, Mega Fäuna have booked shows with RVG, Dune Rats, Ruby Fields, PALMS, Hayley Mary, Johnny Hunter and more.
