Stefan Weerarathna is a Sri Lankan award-winning actor, writer and producer (He/Him) based in Melbourne, Australia. He is represented by MCMAHON MANAGEMENT and has worked actively in the industry for over 9 years across television and film. Stefan received a Diploma of Screen & Media at MELBOURNE POLYTECHNIC in 2013 and continues his training as an actor in the FILM & TELEVISION STUDIO INTERNATIONAL under the guidance of some of Australia's most celebrated industry professionals (CRAIG MCMAHON, KYM VALENTINE, EVE MOREY, KATRINA MILOSEVIC, BERNARD CURRY) and has trained under master dialect coach TYLER COPPIN in the US accent. Credits include ROSTERED ON (NETFLIX/7MATE), MY LIFE IS MURDER (NETWORK 10), FIND ME A DREAM HOME (9NOW), THE CASTING COUCH (OZFLIX) as well as FUMING (Award Winner for MELBOURNE QUEER FILM FESTIVAL - QUIT VIC ‘KEEP THE VIBE ALIVE’ 2019) PEACH PRC & MIA RODRIGUEZ (Each video surpassing 1 MILLION views worldwide on YouTube) and COLES CAR INSURANCE, METRICON, OFFICEWORKS, UBEREATS, HAYMES PAINT, JOHNNIE WALKER, HOLEY MOLEY. In 2021 Stefan produced, wrote and played the character of Knight in the AWARD-WINNING film FRACTURE. The action thriller had it's AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE at the 2021 MONSTER FEST and went on to be be positively received internationally winning BEST ACTION FILM at the LOS ANGELES FILM AWARDS, SWEDISH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, IMAGINE RAIN INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS. BEST CRIME FILM at the EUROPE FILM FESTIVAL and was Officially Selected for AOF MEGAFEST XVIII 2021 in LAS VEGAS, URBAN ACTION INTERNATIONAL ACTION FILM FESTIVAL in NEW YORK. Stefan won BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR for his performance at the SWEDISH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Stefan is skilled across MUAY THAI, BOXING and KICKBOXING and continues to develop his range across all forms of Martial Arts. He has a huge passion for fitness and cooking and is extremely passionate about bringing more of his own brand of action to screens; prioritizing storytelling and characters amidst relentless fight choreography all leading to his next action film 'PAYBACK' which blends his deep admiration for drama and martial arts together scheduled to begin shooting January 2023.
