Jimi Rankin (21) hailing from both Perth and Melbourne has been in love with acting since the age of ten. His first role was as Snug the Lion in a community theatre production of A Midsummer Night’s dream where he stuttered through all five of his lines. Scared but passionate about acting, Jimi involved himself in every theatrical and film training class that he could from that point on which accumulated in being offered a spot at WAAPA just before graduating high school at the ripe age of 18. During his training at WAAPA Jimi has been lucky enough to play such roles as Rev. Parris in The Crucible, rock and roll drag queen Jason in the WA Screen Academy short film Pretty Face and finally coming full circle playing the mischievous anti-hero Puck in A Midsummer Night’s dream in his last production at WAAPA.
