Abbey is a recent graduate from Federation University with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) degree. Abbey performed with Packemin Productions in their production of We Will Rock You directed by Wayne Scott Kermond in February this year. Abbey has been consistly training following her university degree and most recently completed Shaun Rennie's Music Theatre masterclasses at The HUB Studios. Abbey was also one of ten auditioned music theatre performers being mentored in Sydney by Queenie van de Zandt and other industry professionals as part of a six month professional masterclass intensive with AMTA. In December 2019, Abbey played the lead role in Down Under, a short film directed by Estelle Brision and produced by Sydney Film School. Earlier in 2019, Abbey also finished touring with Gibber Australia in the lead role of Bronte as part of The Smashed Project for High School students across NSW. In September 2018, she performed in Theatre & Company’s Production of Funny Girl at the Riverside Theatres. Abbey has spent most of her life dedicated to all genres of the performing arts having trained in singing, acting, and dancing on a weekly basis at The Performance Studio since 2005. She also attended a Pre-Professional Music Theatre course lead by Elise McCann at The Australian Institute for Performing Arts in 2014 and was a member of the NSW Arts Unit State Drama Company in the same year having committed to the State Senior Drama ensembles for two years prior. Abbey has played lead roles in plays and musicals, including Anne in Anne of Green Gables; Little Red in Into the Woods and took part as a soloist in a workshop for the new musical Chloe directed by Nicholas Christo. Abbey also understudied the role of Sue in Bells are Ringing directed by Grace Barnes. Abbey performed her own self-devised cabaret at Slide Lounge under the direction of Brendan de la Hay and performed with Brendan as one of his dancers at the Aurora Ball for charity. Abbey has also completed a Screen Acting Short Course with Yure Covich. Abbey was cast in an episode of Deadly Women with Beyond Productions. She also performed in Worthy of Their Sacrifice in the televised School’s Spectacular and as a member of the State Drama Company, she performed the Alana Valentine play Cyberbile at the Wharf Theatre. She was awarded the Pinchgut Opera Prize for Outstanding Commitment. Abbey has been having private singing and acting lessons with Brendan Monger for the past fifteen years and has attended masterclasses with many industry professionals including Queenie Van de Zandt, Paul Weber and Simon Burke and has travelled to America to attend workshops at Stella Adler, The Edge Dance Studio and TVi Studios Hollywood.
