Pia O'Connell is an Australian actor, known for her diverse body of work spanning over 10 years in the film industry. With a strong presence in commercials, you may have spotted Pia in recent work for Goodlife Gym, Subway and XXXX Beer. In the realm of film, Pia has showcased her talent through various roles. Her portrayal of Hanna in "Relived" and her body double work as Sky II in "The Fear of Darkness" highlight her ability to convey raw emotion and authenticity on screen. Pia was awarded Best Actress at the Gold Coast Film Festival's 'Sipfest' for her role as Maggie in the short film "Arcade." She has also received recognition for her work as Grace in "The Open Spot," which won Best Overall Film at Bond University's Centrescreen awards. Recognised for her contribution across the film and television department at Bond University, Pia is now a subject tutor for Directing Actors. This 12 week workshop explores the actor/director relationship, introducing students to the approaches and practices of working with actors to rehearse and achieve powerful screen performances. Beyond acting, Pia is a nationally recognized DJ and performing artist, under the alias "Pia Pressure." Her versatility is showcased through this character, as she seamlessly transitions between the screen and the stage. Pia has appeared as DJ "Pia Pressure" in music videos such as Beks' "Young Forever" and Amela's "Who You Are," further demonstrating her dynamic range as a performer. With an extensive portfolio of over 20 short films, some that have been showcased at international film festivals, Pia O'Connell continues to make her mark as a talented and versatile actor & performer in the Australian and global entertainment industry.
